Our Travel Team

Meet Martha Rhodes, Owner

After a career in investment banking, I enjoyed being home with my two boys and dreaming of all the places in the world I wanted to travel to with them.   Some were bucket-list trips, but some we were able to take.  Our favorite journeys were within the USA, traveling all over California and many of the national parks.  Internationally, we visited Costa Rica, London and Scotland, and several Caribbean islands.  While raising the boys and volunteering in the community, I loved reading about faraway places, advising friends and family on the best new hotels and hot spots, and keeping my own travel wish list growing.

This wanderlust, combined with my desire to get back into the workforce, lead me to start Travel with Martha in 2010, beginning my “dream career” as a luxury travel advisor.  My business has kept me busy doing what I love–planning trips!  I get just as excited about all of them, whether they are mine or my client’s!  I now travel a lot to invest in my expertise on the most popular family destinations around the world.

I am a native of Richmond, Virginia and a graduate of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.  I worked in Public Finance Banking for Bank of America, learned volunteer leadership skills as a member of the Junior League of Richmond, and now serve on the board of the Northside Family YMCA,  a very special place to me.

Meet Sarah Richardson, Travel Planner

Sarah Ireland 2015In 2013, I re-started my career at Travel With Martha as a travel coordinator. Understanding my client’s travel dreams is the key to a successful vacation. It’s my goal to listen and develop an itinerary that surpasses client expectations. Family vacations, honeymoons, even three-day getaways have the potential to be epic when you put your trust in a travel advisor that knows how little details and surprises along the way elevate your trip to the next level. Travel is an investment in family memories. It’s my pleasure to help you create those memories!

I am a graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, with a French degree. Junior year abroad in Aix en Provence solidified my love of most things French. Numerous trips to Europe including a Christmas 2014 London/Paris family holiday and a week of driving and exploring Ireland in November, 2015 enable me to craft great experiences.

My most recent passion is cruising. I’m excited to sail the Western Caribbean for my birthday in February of 2016.
